Western Grey Kangaroo,
Macropus Fuliginosus
This joey is a Kangaroo Island 'Western', which is a distinct sub-species.
These were in fact the first 'westerns' to be seen by Matthew Flinders on his voyage across the south of Australia in 1801-2, so really it is the mainland 'westerns' that should be classified as the sub-species.
This little joey was photographed in the National Park named after the famous explorer - Flinders Chase.
