Galah,
Cacatua roseicapilla.
The
Galah is one of Australia's best loved birds, at least if you're not a farmer.
It's highly comical antics (slipping on its back down the garden slide, repeatedly
holding on to the vanes of a windmill until it falls off) has even lead to
the term "Doing the galah", meaning to act foolishly.
The Galah is also known as the rosy-headed cockatoo and the rose-breasted
cockatoo and is abundant across almost all of mainland Australia.
This picture of a female galah was taken in the Lane Cove National Park in
New South Wales.
